Carrier furnace fault code 44
Carrier furnace fault code 44 is a general alarm. It indicates the blower assembly, gas valve, or gas control valve are not in an operable status.
The Carrier furnace fault code 44 is called when any of the following occur:
– Blower assembly is faulty.
– Valve, such as the gas valve (natural or propane) or temperature control valve, will not open at the designated temperature.
– Gas control valve which controls the flow of natural gas to the burner does not work properly.
– The blower assembly will not shut off when commanded by thermostat or cycling switch.
Some furnaces may produce a 44 code if the gas pressure is too low. This indicates that the gas pressure needs to be adjusted by the installer and it can be fixed easily by boiling water.
Carrier furnace fault code 44 is usually caused by a faulty gas pressure switch.
A carrier furnace fault code 44, is caused by a faulty gas pressure switch. If the gas pressure switch fails, the remaining air in the line will be heated and become combustible. This can cause a dangerous situation if it is not corrected as soon as possible. Another cause of this error code could be if there was an excessive build-up of lint due to clogged filters or dirty blowers.
